Abstract. The largest-ever validation of GOMS in industry — a year-long study of telephone-operator workstations at NYNEX where CPM-GOMS predictions correctly identified the slower of two candidate systems. Generated the most-cited evidence that predictive modelling can save industrial UI-procurement decisions.
