Abstract. Empirical study finding that evaluator cognitive style (field-dependent vs field-independent) systematically affects which heuristic-evaluation problems get surfaced. Provides evidence for the long-standing recommendation to pool evaluators with diverse backgrounds rather than running single-evaluator reviews.
