Abstract. The canonical revision of Nielsen's heuristics that produced the ten-item list still used today (visibility of system status, match between system and real world, user control and freedom, consistency and standards, error prevention, recognition rather than recall, flexibility and efficiency, aesthetic and minimalist design, help users recognise/diagnose/recover from errors, help and documentation).
