Abstract. The original Cognitive Walkthrough paper. A theory-grounded alternative to Nielsen heuristic evaluation that simulates a novice user moving through a task step-by-step, asking four questions per action about goal correctness, action visibility, action selection, and feedback. Standard companion method to heuristic evaluation in formative usability work.
