Abstract. Adapts Nielsen-style heuristic evaluation to video games, deriving ten game-specific heuristics from a review of hundreds of game reviews. The reference for any "Nielsen heuristics don't apply to [domain X]" argument; canonical example of how to derive domain-specific heuristic sets methodically.
